Uploading a webpage to your home directory using
CuteFTP

Part 1

We suggest you use an ftp client such as:
CuteFTP or WS_FTP (for Windows 95/98/NT)
CuteFTP or WS_FTP (for Windows 3.x)
or Fetch (for macintosh). All of these programs are a free download.

Please make sure you read the "important" stuff on the previous page -click here

For demonstration purposes, we will be showing you how to upload web pages using CuteFTP in this tutorial.

1. To upload your webpage using CuteFTP, start the program and take a look at the main menu that pops up.

This is the main screen. You will probably have many more sites that are already listed in your ftp site manager than I do here. On the bottom left side, click on "Add folder" and call it something you can remember. Once you do that, it will appear in the box on the left hand side. This will be your personal site folder.

Next, from the right side, click on "Add site" and a new menu will pop up:

Add in the information accordingly.
Site Label: Anything you want (My FTP Site)
Host Address: ftp.california.com
Userid: Your email name (ex: johndoe@california.com would enter in johndoe)
Password: Your email password.

Everything else can stay how it is. Press OK at the bottom to accept the information.
