On a usual day in a Playa del Rey neighborhood, jet engines are the only thing shattering the peace and tranquility.
Then the weekend arrives and along with it a college party comes to the corner of Talbert and Earldom, near Loyola Marymount University.
Suddenly the neighborhood is overwhelmed with a whole lot of traffic and a constant wave of partygoers.
"They drive crazy. They live like animals and we're tired of it," said Beth Phillips, Playa del Rey resident.
"The kids drinking on their lawn. They have woken up several times before to different parties, and people actually having sex on their lawn," said resident Jeannine Grahm.
Neighbors feel threatened with the hundreds of students flooding their community at night.
They said the rowdy parties are coming from two homes which have been converted into mini-dorms.
But while Loyola Maramount Senior, Dominic Valdez admitted parties do happen, he said they don't get out of hand.
"From what I can tell there wasn't a lot of noise," Valdez said.
Gwen Vuchsas blames the property owners for the unrest.
"The owners be more respectful in a residential community of who they're renting or leasing their property to," Vuchsas said.
Loyola Maramount University officials said they've received complaints. Some LMU students living there have been fined and ordered to serve community service.
