FAQ

What is PHP?
PHP is a server side scripting/programming language. It's simmilar to C and Perl, with some unique additions specific only to PHP. You might also want to see the Official PHP Web Site at php.net
Why use PHP?
PHP is fast, and PHP is easy. Your first PHP enabled web page doesn't actually have to have any code in it. A simple web page, renamed .php will work just fine. From there, you start modifying the web page to add PHP extensions to it, making the development process very rapid for simple tasks. Also, since PHP is an extension built into the web server, it doesn't have to run any other programs like CGI scripts do, making it much faster than CGI.
How to I use PHP?
Simply upload them to your web directory like you would an htm or html file. This feature is enabled for both domains, and regular users. There's no special directory to use, just upload .php files like you would a normal web page. Follow the installation instructions from whatever script you're using obviously, but there's nothing special you need to do to make California.com run the script other than point your web browser to the file!
I'm not a programmer... Are there any premade scripts for PHP?
Yes, Resourceindex.com has a whole site devoted to just PHP scripts, both partial scripts, libraries, and completed scripts ready to use. They link to both free and commercial scripts so be sure to check the licence before you download a script!
What features does your installation of dreamweaver support?
At the writing of this document, Dreamweaver was compiled with the following optional modules: CURL, MySQL, SSL. We may add modules upon request, so please ask if you need a module that we don't currently support.

I'm using Macromedia Dreamweaver
We support the PHP/MySQL application server type dreamweaver uses. You'll want to visit our dreamweaver support page for instructions on how to setup dreamweaver properly to support this, and if you need MySQL support, you'll need to visit the MySQL request page.
