6. TikTok Potatoes

There are quite a few TikTok recipes that involve potatoes, but the latest craze in that sphere has been the 15-hour potato. Unlike the rest of the recipes on the list which are all quick and easy, the TikTok potatoes need more than a little time and attention. But the result is so so good that you won’t mind doing the process again and again.

  • 5 pounds of California White Rose potatoes
  • 1/2 cup melted duck fat
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons salt
  • Vegetable oil for frying

  2. Line a loaf baking pan with parchment paper and layer potato slices evenly on top of each other. Cover the top with parchment paper and bake for around 3 hours, until potatoes are soft.
  3. After the potatoes are done cooking, remove from the oven and compress with heavy objects. Let it chill for an hour and place the potato cake in the refrigerator overnight.
  4. After at least 10 hours of chilling, remove the potato cake from the pan and cut into rectangular pieces of similar size.
  5. Heat vegetable oil to 275 degrees, and deep fry each potato rectangle until golden brown (3-5 minutes).
  6. Remove, let dry, sprinkle with salt, and enjoy!

7. TikTok Mac and Cheese

Tiktok seems to have a hack for everything, and mac and cheese is no exception. The TikTok mac and cheese is just regular, good old boxed mac and cheese with a small tweak in the instructions. Interested? Here’s how this TikTok recipe is made.

  • 1 box mac and cheese from Annie’s
  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  1. Instead of cooking your sauce and pasta separately and combining later, TikTok’s way of doing it is cooking it all together. So, add your cheese sachet while the pasta is cooking and you’ll have a more flavor-packed mac and cheese.
  2. Once the pasta is cooked, add the extra cup of cheese for a less liquidy texture and enjoy.
