5. Whipped Coffee TikTok
Everyone who’s on the internet has probably tried the whipped coffee TikTok recipe during quarantine. And if you haven’t yet, we’re jealous that you’ve never reached that level of boredom. But, also, you’ve missed out; it’s actually really good.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons instant coffee from Canyon Coffee
- 2 tablespoons white sugar
- 2 tablespoons hot water
- 1 cup of your choice of milk (cow or plant milk is fine)
Instructions
- Add all the ingredients into a bowl and whip well with a hand mixer or whip attachment until thick.
- Fill a glass with ice, add milk, and top it off with the coffee mixture. Stir the coffee into the milk and enjoy.
6. TikTok Potatoes
There are quite a few TikTok recipes that involve potatoes, but the latest craze in that sphere has been the 15-hour potato. Unlike the rest of the recipes on the list which are all quick and easy, the TikTok potatoes need more than a little time and attention. But the result is so so good that you won’t mind doing the process again and again.
Ingredients
- 5 pounds of California White Rose potatoes
- 1/2 cup melted duck fat
- 1 1/2 tablespoons salt
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 300 degrees. Wash and peel your potatoes, thinly slicing them with a mandolin. Toss the potatoes, duck fat, and salt in a large bowl until each potato slice is well coated.
- Line a loaf baking pan with parchment paper and layer potato slices evenly on top of each other. Cover the top with parchment paper and bake for around 3 hours, until potatoes are soft.
- After the potatoes are done cooking, remove from the oven and compress with heavy objects. Let it chill for an hour and place the potato cake in the refrigerator overnight.
- After at least 10 hours of chilling, remove the potato cake from the pan and cut into rectangular pieces of similar size.
- Heat vegetable oil to 275 degrees, and deep fry each potato rectangle until golden brown (3-5 minutes).
- Remove, let dry, sprinkle with salt, and enjoy!
