A Dedicated Realtor Helping Residents Actualize Their Home Ownership Dreams in Lakewood
Allison Van Wig is a dedicated broker in Lakewood who specializes in preparing and marketing homes for the market. With over 30 years of real estate experience, Allison excels at both buying and selling homes; anything she can do to help her community thrive, she’s ready to do so.
Her experience and mindset regarding the real estate industry speaks for itself—for Allison buying and selling in the real estate market is the most important financial transaction you can make—and, it should therefore be treated as such.
“Don’t over buy. Stick to your budget, and don’t feel pushed,” Allison advises. “You should be excited about the home that you’re buying. Sometimes that doesn’t happen right away, sometimes you have to view several or a few homes before that happens.”
Building Her Life and Career In Lakewood
Originally from Fairbanks, Alaska, Allison has a deep appreciation for the Golden State and has been serving as a real estate agent in the Long Beach and Lakewood area for over 30 years now. Allison realized her calling as an agent after purchasing her first home. She felt that the realtor could’ve done a much better job working with her during the purchasing process.
Allison loves the diversity of Long Beach/ Lakewood—whether it’s the weather, climate, culture, or architecture, there’s something for everyone. Whether you like massive or tiny homes, urban developments, or the suburban feels, you’re bound to find a house to call home in the Lakewood area. It’s easy to stay fit in California, there’s a community around every interest and local farmer’s markets found almost everywhere. The neighborhood feel, tree-lined streets, and the pride of ownership felt by homeowners are just several reasons why Allison loves Lakewood. Not to mention, Lakewood’s greenery, children playing outside, and family-friendly concerts held at the park.
“Seeing people grow in growth financially changes everything.”
Giving Back to Her Community
When Allison isn’t helping clients find their dream home, she’s exploring nature through skiing, hiking, and biking. She also spends her free time sublimation crafting and doing pilates. Allison is actively involved with the Challenged Athletes Foundation, which builds prosthetics for people that want to live actively and compete athletically. Allison is also involved with the U.S. Adaptive Recreation Center (USARC), which is a center dedicated to people with disabilities and dog rescue.
