Jeff Anderson and Torey Carrick are the inspiring leaders of the Anderson Real Estate Group, a top Southern California agency specializing in buying and listing homes. Born and raised in the Golden State, Jeff and Torey have almost always called California home. During a brief stint working, living, and buying a home in Indiana, Jeff was inspired to obtain his real estate license and fulfill his lifelong dream of starting his own business. After a few years, the pair was reminded of their love for California and decided to move back to Jeff’s hometown of Long Beach. While he got his California real estate license right away, Torey didn’t join him in the industry until 2010—leaving a stable career to pursue real estate, which melds his passions for architecture and working with people. Now, the couple enjoys the city’s diverse population, bohemian vibe, and small-town feel and appreciates the opportunity to work side by side to help their fellow residents find their perfect homes.
Living The California Dream
Jeff and Torey met over two decades ago and always talked about going into business together when they retired from their respective jobs, but they never imagined they’d be able to do it before the age of 60. What began as a plan for “someday” turned into a reality during the 2008 recession when Torey decided to take the risk of joining his husband in the real estate industry. Following the guiding principle that customers come first, the pair has carved out a unique space for themselves in the Southern California real estate market and helped thousands of families in the process.

Jeff and Torey’s passion for and knowledge of the industry is apparent even in the shortest of conversations. They’re genuinely committed to helping others and focused on their customer’s agenda rather than their own. “For our seller clients, it’s a dollar and cents equation for them, so how do we help them achieve the highest sale possible and net the most amount of money?” says Jeff, describing the aspects he loves most about his career. “Our buyers want to get the best deal but also want a home that could be their forever home. So how do we match them with that perfect home and help with the details they’re after—contractors and designers or whatever they need in order to make that home their home?”
In addition to helping others achieve their home buying and selling goals, Jeff and Torey take the time to share their experience, systems, and knowledge with their newer agents. “It’s always rewarding helping people build their careers,” says Jeff, explaining how much he appreciates and enjoys working with his team.
ROOTED IN THE COMMUNITY
From skiing and snowboarding in Mammoth to camping in Joshua Tree and visiting Southern California’s beaches, Jeff and Torey are drawn to the diverse natural wonders surrounding them. While this connection makes Long Beach their ideal location, they take their involvement in the community a step further by lending their neighbors a helping hand. The pair has served on the board of the historic Rose Park neighborhood and fundraised for the LGBTQ Center Long Beach in addition to running the Anderson Group Community Foundation. Through this nonprofit, Jeff and Torey have organized projects such as cleaning up local parks and handing out “Blessing Bags” filled with hygiene products, socks, and words of affirmation to those experiencing homelessness.
When they aren’t helping clients and the community, Jeff and Torey are busy raising their sons Wesley and Quincey, entertaining guests whenever they can, and indulging their passion project of restoring and living in mid-century modern homes.
