A Relationship-Focused Walnut Creek Realtor With A Passion for Helping Contra Costa Residents

Teresa Zocchi is a San Francisco Bay Area native with nearly a decade of experience helping clients buy and sell homes in Walnut Creek. Born and raised in Concord, Teresa moved around the East Bay and attended St. Mary’s College in Moraga, but she was always drawn to the homey feel of Contra Costa County. Teresa grew up surrounded by the real estate industry, but it wasn’t until she pursued a career as a teacher, had children, and experienced a life change that she popped into real estate herself.

After years of helping Walnut Creek residents find their perfect homes and list their properties, Teresa has become equally skilled at negotiating deals and educating clients. Whether she’s helping remodel a home from a to z or searching for the right neighborhood for a customer, it’s her desire to maintain relationships that truly sets her apart. The majority of her business comes from referrals and stands as a testament to her dedication and caring demeanour.

Taking An Educational Approach to East Bay Real Estate

Since Teresa has become an expert in her field, it’s hard to imagine her doing anything else, yet she spent several years teaching elementary school. Growing up, her father was a developer, so she spent a lot of time on his job sites and was inspired to enter the industry. When she graduated from high school, Teresa knew she wanted to be a realtor, but her father encouraged her to get a degree first. In college, she changed her mind and decided to become a teacher. After years of educating fourth grade students and substitute teaching part-time to care for her young children, Teresa found her calling as a real estate agent.

“I grew up going to [my father’s] jobs—it was sort of in my blood—and I think that was absolutely the inspiration. He loved what he did, he was successful, he was a big family man, so I’m pretty sure that lit the fire.”

Though these careers might seem entirely different at first glance, they are quite similar in that they both require an exchange of knowledge. Whether she’s walking homeowners through the renovation aspects of selling their home or teaching new homebuyers what all the steps are, coaching her clients through the transaction is one of Teresa’s core strengths.

“We get to help them make the biggest purchase or sale of their life, so it’s important that everything is above board, we’re very ethical, and we have a lot of integrity.”

Over the years, Teresa has developed an affinity for listings. She brings in vendors to spruce up the properties and finds that she’s able to build trust with her clients through that interaction. “I like it when we resonate on a project,” says Teresa, describing the educational opportunities that present themselves and the client relationships she’s cultivated through listing homes.

“People don’t know how encompassing it is in the beginning,” says Teresa. “There are a lot of steps,” she continues, describing the importance of interviewing agents and understanding what goes into the selling process before getting too far into the transaction. For buyers, on the other hand, Teresa says: “Don’t wait. I’m really encouraging any buyers who are on the fence to jump in and just get started.” Living in the competitive East Bay Area, she advises clients to follow their dream of becoming homeowners.

Supporting Clients, Family, and Community

Teresa is very family-oriented and rooted in the Contra Costa community. When she’s not helping others buy and sell homes, she’s cooking and embracing her Italian roots, traveling to visit her four children, hiking in nearby regional parks, and serving others. Teresa is compassionate and empathetic, lending a hand to help local children and families in need. She sits on the board of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Contra Costa and helps kids and families get the food and school supplies they need. She also helps organize an annual garage sale in which dozens of local families participate, and she takes part in the Adopt-a-Family program to support the members of her community.
