Bay Area's Amit Elor Wins Olympic Wrestling Gold Medal for Team USA

Amit Elor, born in Walnut Creek, captured a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, putting a capstone on the 20-year-old’s overwhelmingly dominant resume in international wrestling competitions. With a 3-0 victory over Meerim Zhumanazarova of Kyrgyzstan, Elor remains unbeaten in international wrestling competitions and becomes another medalist from California for Team USA.

Elor controlled the pace of the match and showed some unparalleled strength to take the shutout win in the Women’s 60kg weight class. She’s been on an unstoppable run and only gave up 2 points during her Olympics run.

A student at Diablo Valley College, she’s been a world-class athlete from the start. She holds eight world championships across different age groups like cadet, junior, and senior. She’s undefeated with a record of 38-0 in international competition outsourcing her opponents by a staggering 325-16

In 2023, Elor made history by becoming the youngest American wrestler to win a Senior World Championship, clinching the title in the 72kg category. Her ability to seamlessly transition between weight classes and maintain dominance highlights her versatility and exceptional skill.
