It’s that time of year again! That’s right, the season of California comic conventions is upon us, so start thinking about your cosplay, plan your travels, and get stoked to meet some of your favorite actors, writers, and artists in person.
With so many small comic-book conventions, major comic conventions, and everything in between, it can be difficult to figure out a set schedule that accommodates them all. Luckily for you, we have rounded up the most noteworthy comic conventions in California that you won’t want to miss out on.

As one of the largest comic conventions in the world, Comic-Con International: San Diego (CCI) is the place to be. Previously known as San Diego Comic-Con (or SDCC), CCI combines the best of comic fandom, featuring an array of special guests, an art show, opportunities to gather autographs, and chances to connect with other creators looking to jump into the comic book or gaming industries. With all of the exciting offerings, true comic-book fans will certainly want for nothing at this convention.

Make sure to get a jumpstart on your costumes to compete for one of the 10 prizes in the cosplay contest, and don’t miss out on the 100-plus panels and film screenings available.

This Northern California comic-con is bound to be a star-studded event that attendees will be talking about for months. Expected celebrity appearances include Arnold Schwarzenegger from The Terminator and Predator, Jason Momoa from Aquaman, Morena Baccarin from Firefly, James and Oliver Phelps from the Harry Potter films, Julie Benz from Dexter, and many more. Between the guest panelists, art displays, gaming zones, and family-friendly activities, there’s plenty of entertainment to be found.

L.A. Comic Con is the largest comic, sci-fi, pop culture, horror, and gaming convention in the region.
