1. Capitola Beach

Distance: Approximately 2.5 miles from Soquel

Our first coastal stop is Capitola Beach. Embodying a vibrant, festive spirit, it's the ideal spot for families and groups. With the picturesque Venetian Court backdrop, this beach is like stepping into a postcard. Access is simple, with parking available in the nearby village or the paid parking lots, although it can get crowded during peak season. Capitola's rich history, dating back to being California's first seaside resort, continues to charm visitors today.

2. New Brighton State Beach

Distance: Approximately 3.5 miles from Soquel

New Brighton State Beach offers a more serene atmosphere. It's an excellent spot for camping, with facilities right by the beach. Parking is readily available, and the walk from the lot to the beach is an enjoyable, scenic route. Historically, this beach was the site of a Chinese fishing village in the 19th century. The remnants, though subtle, add a layer of historical intrigue to your visit.

3. Pleasure Point

Distance: Approximately 4.5 miles from Soquel

Pleasure Point is a legendary spot among the surfing community. Renowned for its consistent waves, it's an irresistible lure for surfers of all levels. Street parking is the go-to option here, but be prepared for a bit of a walk during peak surfing hours. Notably, the area was once home to iconic surfer and wetsuit pioneer, Jack O'Neill, cementing its place in surfing history.

4. Seacliff State Beach

At the end of our tour, Seacliff State Beach awaits. It's best known for the SS Palo Alto, an abandoned concrete ship at the end of a pier, creating an enchanting, almost surreal view.
