Disneyland Announces 70th Anniversary Plans

In 1955, Walt Disney created “The Happiest Place on Earth” as Disneyland's tagline. He intended for visitors to find joy and wonder in the park. Decades later, it is still as popular and remains a favorite destination for children and adults of all ages. Whether exploring Disneyland California’s iconic rides or enjoying the magical decorations, there's something for everyone. 

On March 6, Disneyland announced its 70th anniversary plans, with Celebrate Happy as the main theme. The celebrations will begin May 16, 2025 and run through summer 2026. As part of the festivities, Disneyland Resort will offer a series of events, festivals and limited-time offers.

What to Expect from the Disneyland 70th Anniversary in 2025

You can visit Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park during the 70th Anniversary Celebration with these admission promotions:

• 4-Day, 1-Park Ticket: $400, or $100 per day.
• 3-Day, 1-Park Ticket: $360, or $120 per day.

The $100 one-day ticket offer is a great opportunity for those who want to experience the magic of Disneyland at a more affordable price. The promotion is valid from May 16 to August 14, when prices normally range from $142 to $206.

Park Hopper and Lightning Lane Multi-Pass upgrades are available for additional fees. With the Park Hopper option, you can visit both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park on the same day. Without this upgrade, a standard one-park-per-day ticket restricts you to either Disneyland or Disney California Adventure for the entire day. The Lightning Lane Multi-Pass lets you skip standby lines for select attractions by booking return times via the Disneyland app, based on availability.

Special hotel discounts are available at the on-site Disneyland Resort hotels. Booking a stay at a Disney hotel has extra perks, such as proximity to the parks, access to exclusive amenities, and total immersion in the magical atmosphere.

• Up to 30% Off: Available for stays of 4 or more nights at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, Disneyland Hotel, The Villas at Disneyland Hotel and Pixar Place Hotel. 

• Up to 20% Off: Available for Sunday to Thursday night stays from May 16 to August 14, 2025, at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, Disneyland Hotel, and The Villas at Disneyland Hotel (Pixar Place Hotel excluded). 

It's important to remember that hotel availability is limited, so booking in advance is recommended.

The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade at Disneyland Park

In celebration of seven decades of happiness, The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade is making its premiere at Disneyland Park. It will wind down the parade route, featuring favorite characters like Goofy and Max in their 70th anniversary attire, as well as other friends like Duffy and ShellieMay from Duffy and Friends.

• Paint the Night Parade: This colorful nighttime parade will light up Main Street with vibrant lights and dazzling characters, including Mack, the truck from Cars.

• Tapestry of Happiness Projection: The facade of It's a Small World will be transformed into a beautiful animated mosaic that relives happy moments from the park. As Disney describes it, "a visual love letter to Disneyland," the projection evokes childhood joy and brings people together through shared memories.
  
  
• New Additions to It's a Small World:.Beloved characters from Coco, including Miguel and Dante, will join the Mexico section of this iconic attraction.
  
  
• The Happy Celebration Parade: Mickey Mouse and friends will march in festive attire, spreading holiday cheer.
  
  
• Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!: This daytime parade will feature vibrant floats, lively music and over two dozen Pixar characters from films like Luca and Up, celebrating friendship and heartwarming stories.
• A Sherman Brothers Tribute at Main Street Cinema: At the Main Street Cinema, attendees will also have the opportunity to view “The Last Verse,” a short film that pays tribute to the lasting impact of the Sherman Brothers’ musical contributions to Disney.

Festive Decorations and Special Installations 

Festive decorations will fill the properties of Disneyland Resort, adding to the holiday spirit. Highlights include a special Mickey and Minnie installation in Town Square, a floral Mickey and anniversary-themed banners in Disneyland Park, and a 50-foot sculpture in the Esplanade inspired by Sleeping Beauty Castle.

Disney California Adventure's Carthay Circle Restaurant will feature 70th-anniversary colors and a nightly Celebrate Happy light-and-projection show. The Downtown Disney District and resort hotels will also be decorated.
