Celebrating its tenth anniversary, the FOG Design+Art Fair is set to captivate San Francisco once again from January 18-21, 2024, at the Fort Mason Center for Arts and Culture. This year marks a special milestone with the introduction of FOG FOCUS, a platform showcasing art by young and underrepresented artists.

Located in the Pier 2 building, previously occupied by the San Francisco Arts Institute, FOG FOCUS is an ode to the institute's role as a cradle for emerging talent and a vital element of the city's creative landscape. Offering exhibition space at an accessible price point, FOG FOCUS is a testament to the fair's commitment to inclusivity and diversity.

The arts district is San Francisco is full of unique architecture and beautiful modern and classical art.

General Admission for the fair is as follows:

  • Single Day Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door and online.
  • Four Day Fair Tickets are $75 in advance, $80 at the door and online.

This edition's theme, “A Love Letter to San Francisco,” celebrates the city's cultural vibrancy. It permeates every aspect of the fair, from the mesmerizing entryway installation to the innovative FOG Talks and the launch of SF Art Week. This theme is not just a mere decoration but a profound acknowledgment of the city's artistic pulse and the fair's dedication to enriching it.

FOG FOCUS will feature nine exhibitors alongside art installations, activations, and performances. Notably, there will be a collaborative exhibition by Creative Growth Art Center, Creativity Explored, and NIAD, spotlighting contemporary works by Bay Area artists with disabilities. This initiative reflects San Francisco's spirit of experimentation and creative thinking, offering a stage to those often overlooked in the art world.

In addition to FOG FOCUS, the fair will present 45 booths in Pier 3. This year welcomes eight first-time exhibitors, including AGO Projects from Mexico City and Galerie Max Hetzler from Berlin, alongside local galleries like Catharine Clark Gallery. These new additions highlight the fair's global appeal and its role as a melting pot of diverse artistic expressions.

The fair is a good opportunity to meet and witness some of the great modern art trends going on today.

FOG FOCUS introduces its first artist-in-residence program with Oakland-based artist and educator José Figueroa. His dynamic presence will be felt throughout the fair, as he sketches visitors and activities, offering a unique, live artistic documentation. His works, created on-site, will be displayed alongside his existing pieces, providing a fresh perspective on art in action.

The fair is more than just an exhibition space. FOG Talks, a series of discussions curated by committee member Susan Swig, will delve into relevant topics in art, design, technology, and contemporary issues. These talks are integral to the fair's mission, fostering critical dialogue and intellectual exchange among its attendees.

FOG Design+Art Fair has become a cornerstone event for the West Coast's design and arts communities and beyond. Its unique blend of art and design, coupled with dynamic programming and a community-led approach, sets it apart. As the fair continues to evolve, it remains a beacon of creativity and a gathering point for those passionate about the arts, honoring its commitment to championing art and design in its historic Fort Mason setting.
