When Sonny and Cher bought a beach house in the city back in the 1960s, they knew exactly what they were doing. And if you ever find yourself thinking what are the things to do in Oxnard, simply ask yourself, “What would Cher do?”

The lure of the waves is the same no matter where you go. There are a million ways to surf, but as long as you’re smiling, you’re doing it right.

1. Ride the Waves at Mandalay State Beach

One of Oxnard’s favorite sandy stretches is Mandalay State Beach. Left in its original rugged state, this beach has a different feel compared to California’s crowded spots.
