Healthy Beverages That Taste Good
From nutritious smoothies and delectable juices to healthy energy drinks and flavored waters, California companies make nourishing drinks people of all ages can enjoy. Here are a few of our favorites.
Organic Greens And Ginger
The most refreshing cold-pressed juice in California is made by Evolution Fresh, a company that produces pure, nutritious, and smartly preserved healthy drinks. The best one yet? Organic greens and ginger. This delicious and healthy beverage is made from celery, apple, cucumber, spinach, romaine lettuce, kale, parsley, lemon, and spicy ginger—plus, the juice contains only 45 calories.
Based in Rancho Cucamonga, Evolution Fresh takes pride in cold pressing all of its juices. The process helps protect the flavor and nutrients of the fruits and vegetables without adding any artificial colors or preservatives. Pair your juice with a healthy snack from California, and you've got yourself a treat. Great minds drink alike.
Redwood Cold-Pressed Juice
Looking for healthy juices grown and produced in the Golden State? California Juice Co. has you covered. Providing people with simple and organic cold-pressed healthy juices, the Santa Barbara company grows, hand harvests, and bottles each product on its fourth-generation family farm.
Each drink is organic, non-GMO, research-backed, and high-pressure processed (which means there's no nutrient loss when prepared). So, the next time you're looking for simple home remedies for your self-care routine, sip on a bottle of the Redwood cold-pressed juice. The yummy healthy drink is made with carrots, apples, pineapples, oranges, and beets.
Healthy Energy Drinks
Sparkling Cranberry Pomegranate Yerba Mate
Guayakí Yerba Mate is an organic beverage company based in Sebastopol that specializes in products made from yerba mate—a plant that contains the right amount of natural caffeine to increase your energy levels. Instead of having commercial energy drinks, opt for Guayakí’s sparkling cranberry pomegranate yerba mate.
The healthy energy drink reduces tiredness, optimizes brain function, and sharpens attention and focus—all by using the ancient and natural leaves of the yerba mate tree. Whether you’re doing safe exercises at home or powering through an all-nighter to study for your finals, this beverage may just give you the kick you’re looking for.
Low-Calorie Açaí Energy Drink
Treat yourself to a low-calorie açaí energy drink from Sambazon while blasting your favorite songs from your outdoor workout playlist. The açaí berry and pomegranate healthy energy drink is rich in antioxidants and is powered by yerba mate, green tea, and guaraná. Compared to coffee, green tea consists of less caffeine but contains enough to produce an effect and improve brain functions.
Sambazon is an acronym for Sustainable Management of the Brazilian Amazon; the San Clemente company has adopted a sustainable business philosophy. The company's drinks nourish your health and wellness while simultaneously protecting the amazing Amazon Rainforest—they're both energizing and environmentally conscious.
Healthy Drinks For Kids
Tropical Guava Fruit Smoothie
The healthiest way for your kids to consume sugar is through fruits. Why binge on sweets and candy when the youngsters can get their fair share of sugar from healthy drinks for kids? Monrovia's Naked Juice has the perfect beverage for exactly this: the tropical guava fruit smoothie. The tasty and healthy beverage is made from oranges, guavas, grapes, pineapples, kiwis, bananas, apples, and a hint of chokeberry and elderberry. We already feel the taste of the tropics.
Healthy Flavored Water
Watermelon Hint Water
There’s nothing more refreshing than a sip of healthy flavored water. Hint Water, a San Francisco-based beverage company, has more than enough options to quench your thirst. Our favorite is watermelon—pure water flavored with delicious watermelon with zero calories, diet sweeteners, and preservatives. The kosher-certified, vegan-friendly, non-GMO, and sugar-free healthy flavored water is exactly what we need to drink during our virtual exercise classes.
Healthy Sports Drinks
Carrot Black Pepper Turmeric Juice Shot
Need a healthy sports drink to help you achieve your workout goals? Have a shot of carrot black pepper turmeric juice from R.W. Knudsen. The on-the-go healthy drink has a long list of organic ingredients, including carrot, ginger, and lemon juice concentrate along with organic black pepper, turmeric powder, and cayenne pepper. The best part about this healthy sports drink is that it requires no refrigeration.
Ask any Californian: What’s the one healthy drink they can’t get enough of? That’s right, kombucha. The fermented, lightly effervescent, sweetened tea is beloved for its health benefits and refreshing flavors. As for everyone’s favorite healthy kombucha, it’s arguably the passion fruit–tangerine from the Torrance-based Health-Ade Kombucha.
The key ingredients—tangy tangerine and succulent passion fruit—create a blend of natural healthy acids to produce a distinct flavor that’s both familiar and exotic. Other ingredients include kombucha culture, organic black and green teas, and orange juice. This healthy kombucha is definitely our cup of tea.
